In addition to the company headquarters in Randers, Denmark, Verdo Holdings A/S has established the subsidiary Verdo Renewables Ltd based in Andover, Hampshire, to operate the two new pellet and briquette plants, and also co-ordinate all sales activities in Great Britain.
Verdo Renewables Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Verdo Holding A/S, the parent company of the Verdo Group. The Group’s headquarters is located in the city of Randers, Denmark. Verdo is owned by an independent financial institution and recently celebrated 100 years of providing district heating to the city of Randers, making it one of the oldest heat and power plants in Denmark. Today, Verdo operates its own combined heat and power plant and electricity distribution grid. The company deals in energy, owns the water supply plant in Randers, and provides internet and telephony services via a fibre-optic network. The Group has developed biomass technology for production of electricity and is one of the leading companies in the biofuel industry.
Verdo Renewables was founded as Energi Randers UK in May of 2006 in order to increase the Group’s presence in the growing British biomass market. The company’s most important areas of activity are the development of biomass-based fuel production, as well as the distribution and installation of biomass technology in Great Britain.
